LOW TEMPERATURE,
ON-BOARD Waste heat

A ship’s engine loses more than 50% of its energy as waste heat and at least half of this is low temperature waste heat. Despite this, the majority of waste heat consumers require high temperature heat, which leaves low-temp waste heat underutilized.

Climeon’s HeatPower technology converts waste heat at temperatures as low as 80° C to ensure an increased amount of thermal energy can be repurposed and used to generate carbon-free electricity.

The result? More waste heat is reused and more clean energy is produced!

WASTE HEAT RECOVERY?

Based on the Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) thermodynamic principle, Climeon’s HeatPower technology exploits the temperature difference between a hot and cold source and uses an environmentally friendly, non-toxic, non-flammable working media to enable energy production at lower temperatures.

HeatPower’s ability to convert low-temp waste heat into clean electricity enables single waste streams, such as jacket cooling water, to generate carbon-free power, thus streamlining the installation process and reducing payback times.
