CAPTURE LOW-TEMP WASTE HEAT

More than 50% of a ship's fuel energy is wasted as heat and the majority of this heat is lost at low temperatures (80-120 degrees C). Climeon’s AWARD-WINNING HeatPower Marine system uses Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) technology to capture and convert low-temp waste heat from multiple sources, including:

GENERATE CARBON-FREE ELECTRICITY & REDUCE CO2 EMISSIONS

The Climeon Heat Power system is a WHR system that exploits the temperature differences between hot and cold water to generate clean electricity for your vessel’s grid. The Heat Power system uses principals of an ORC thermodynamic process to convert waste heat to power by utilizing the volume difference between gas and fluid state of a working media to generate a flow pressure over a turbine. Thus, it functions as a closed loop steam turbine system but uses an organic fluid instead of water as working media. The organic fluid has a boiling point lower than water, which enables the ORC system to generate electricity from waste heat at lower temperatures.
