Revolutionary C3 Technology
Climeon award-winning C3 Technology converts thermal energy into usable electrical energy. Installation requires only three connections, a hot source, a cold source and a power connection. On the hot side, the unit operates at temperatures between 70 and 120 °C, temperatures that were previously unfeasible for this type of technology. The cold side is typically between 5 and 40 °C and can be sourced from cooling tower (wet or dry), or water from a natural source (river, lake or ocean).
The incoming waste heat converts our unique working media from liquid to gas. The gas occupies more space than the liquid therefore pressure is increased. The pressurized gas is passed through a turbine which generates clean electricity. The gas is cooled after the passage through the turbine, and the cooling leads to gas being converted back to liquid. Climeon has found a way to do this without any losses during the condensation process. The liquid is pumped again to the waste heat side to continue this efficient closed loop cycle.

Climeon Ocean is packed with innovations resulting in a broad range of patent applications. These innovations do not make the machine more complex. On the contrary, we have simplified the process of converting waste heat to clean electricity. For customers, the result is a robust system that is simple to operate and maintain. Climeon Ocean has a modular design, where each system consists of one or many 150 kW modules. These modules can be viewed in the same way as cylinders in an engine. In order to generate more power, you increase the number of modules. The modular design allows the system to adapt to fluctuating heat conditions ensuring excellent partial load performance and superior efficiency.
Climeon Ocean operates at a slight over-pressure on the hot side, and at a slight vacuum on the cooling side of the process. Low pressure equipment typically uses less material and therefore is lighter in weight which is a big advantage when operating on sea vessels. Low pressure systems are also safer to work with and easier to maintain.
Our engineers have optimized the design to maximize the extraction of energy from the pressurized gas as it expands over the turbine. The gas is just about dry as it enters the vacuum chamber and instantly condensates without any losses. Another key benefit is the low pressure of the Climeon Ocean. A low pressure system means lower costs for pumping, and typically results in lower manufacturing and integration costs.
